In 2019, the total retailsales of social consumer goods increased by 8.0% YoY, down 1% from the sameperiod last year, and still maintained a high growth rate. According to thelocation of business units, the retail sales of consumer goods in cities andtowns reached RMB 35,131.7 billion, up 7.9% and retail sales of rural consumergoods reached RMB 6,032.2 billion, up 9.0%. According to the type ofconsumption, catering income was RMB 4,671.1 billion, up 9.4%. Retail salestotaled RMB 36,492.8 billion, up 7.9%. Upgraded consumer goods maintained rapidgrowth, with the annual retail sales of cosmetics, communication equipment,sports and entertainment products, household appliances and audio-visualequipment above the quota growing 8.7%, 4.6%, 4.1% and 1.7% faster than theretail sales of consumer goods above the quota respectively, a significantincrease over last year. In the whole year, the national online retail salesreached RMB 10,632.4 billion, up 16.5% over the previous year. Among them, theonline retail sales of real goods reached RMB 8,523.9 billion, a growth of19.5%, accounting for 20.7% of the total retail sales of social consumer goods,up 2.3 percentage points from the previous year.
